With health comes freedom, I have the job of witnessing ones journey to health.
My story
Dr. McPherson is a graduate of Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA with the degree of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. A local to Western Washington she is pleased to be serving her community. She finished her bachelors degree at Evergreen State College in Olympia and grew up in rural Southwest Washington which cultivated her love of gardening, the outdoors and rain. To be a different kind of a physician was a life long goal. Someone who treats all parts of a person. Mental and emotional health as well as physical health have been passions that have driven her studies.
She currently lives in South King County with her loving husband, two kids, two cats and dog.
“My destination is no longer a place, but a new way of seeing. ”
MY Philosophy
I see health care differently. I see primary care as a way of cultivating the foundations for health of the body and mind. Preventative care has come to mean screening exams which catch disease at early stages. While this is valuable and serves its role in medicine I prefer to think of prevention as changing the course that the disease would have taken to be replaced with functioning healthful systems. When one lives with health it provides the freedom to follow their other goals and aspirations. When one is preoccupied with day to day symptoms of disease it can be limiting and many parts of ones life suffers, such as ones own happiness, family time, career goals, spiritual goals, hobbies, having fun and many other practices. Just as one cannot remove the dark from a room, one can only add light. It is the same with health and disease. We will work together to add health to your life to provide you with the freedom that comes with it.
